New resources to support Scouts at home
How to deliver a flexible programme during COVID-19. To help you decide on any programme changes so that young people can keep learning and stay safe, we’ve developed some new guidance. Take a look here for details about nights away at home, badges, the Duke of Edinburgh's award, Top Awards and more...
There are plenty more online platforms you could use for your meetings. Check out our advice about the pros and cons of popular platforms to find the one that’s right for you.
Iftar under the Stars. Join us for ‘Iftar Under the Stars’ every Saturday night from 6-8pm on Facebook Live to learn about the holy month of Ramadan. We’ll be sharing delicious food recipes for you to try at home, fun crafts to develop new skills, and learning about some of the great work that’s happening around the UK. Why not gather your family and join in with our online community?
Information for all members
Local badges. We’ve seen local Scouting designing new badges to keep young people busy whilst at home, which is great. We’re working on a national occasional badge also. Please note however that no badge should be named or styled after the COVID-19 illness, as this would be deeply inappropriate. Any badge which uses Scout Trade Marks and is intended to be distributed nationally must first have written permission of headquarters as per Policy, Organisation and Rules.
Bereavement support. COVID-19 is a global pandemic. Thousands of people, both young and old, have lost their lives, and millions have been affected. Now, more than ever, it’s important that we, as Scouts, rally around each other, show our Scout values and support one another. We know that some groups may face the death of an adult volunteer or young person and so, working with expert partners, we’ve developed guidance and support to help you talk about what’s happened and mark it with your group.
